Kristin designs everything for retail:  Store fixtures, POP, Trade Show booths and window displays. She works all across New England including Boston, New York and Providence.

Kristin Lauer has worked both full time and as a consultant for corporate clients developing retail brand point-of-sale and capital fixture programs. She has project managed the design of trade show booths, kiosks, retail stores and factory store models. She has developed and executed design concepts for retail visual merchandising décor and window display roll outs for multiple door programs.

Kristin has acted as a site supervisor for "big box" retail "shop in shop" installations; supervising all aspects of project coordination and set up.

As project director, Kristin has traveled the world to locate, source, cost and deliver custom designed brand merchandising point of sale displays. With this global experience in China, India, Singapore, Canada, Europe and the US, she is uniquely qualified to target appropriate vendors and draft timelines for both wholesale and retail initiatives.

Early in her career, Kristin worked with large retailers such as Filene’s, Bloomingdale's, Henri Bendel, and Barneys. She gained experience with a variety of product categories: cosmetics, couture clothing, shoes and accessories; creating concepts specifically tailored to a particular brand’s DNA. As an energetic and resourceful designer, she perfected her installation and sourcing skills while working under extremely fast turnaround deadlines.

Through her studio Blue Potato Installations, Kristin’s attention grabbing designs were published in leading trade journals/ books and reported on TV. Her work was awarded Best of Boston in Boston Magazine, and received coverage within the ‘Style Makers’ section of the New York Times.

Kristin trained at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago earning a Master of Fine Art in Sculpture, with an emphasis in installation art. Kristin continues to combine her experience in both Fine and Commercial Art in her work as a retail designer.
